Civil/Municipal Engineering Candidates

Chagrin Valley Engineering is seeking individuals with engineering and design experience. Qualified candidates should be familiar with utilizing AutoCAD software for plan preparation and design. Work includes plan preparation and contract administration for municipal and private clients. Plan preparation may include field surveys, surface modelling, existing conditions research, highway and intersection design, hydrological studies including evaluation and design, site grading, earthwork calculations, erosion protection and storm water management, sanitary sewer and water line layouts, subdivision design, quantity calculations, construction administration and related tasks. Pay commensurate with experience.

Geographical Informational Systems (GIS) Specialist

Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain and update existing spatial data for CVE’s municipal clients. Data needs to be maintained in an organized, logical, and efficient manner. Utilize public-county resources to update parcel and other relevant data.

  • Work with CVE staff to acquire, produce, and maintain data for clients and projects.

  • Provide effective custom-solutions for clients with varying needs and budgets.

  • Balance a workload of long-term projects while performing short-term projects and tasks.

  • Provide and update ArcReader maps for CVE staff and offsite clients. Manage ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Online content for clients with those capabilities.

  • Manage various inspection programs, including those associated with the OEPA Phase II Stormwater Program, currently leveraging ArcGIS Online and Collector.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the latest GIS technology and information available through professional associations, training, etc. to deliver the most practical and efficient solutions to clients.

 Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/BS in GIS, geography, computer science or closely-related field.

  • Must have at least two years of experience in a professional GIS environment.

  • Must have at least one year of experience in mapping public infrastructure such as roads, sewers and water lines

  • Must have experience with the ESRI platform, particularly ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online. Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise (ArcGIS for Server), ArcGIS Collector, and ArcGIS Publisher is preferred.

  • Must have a familiarity with geodatabases. Familiarity with GPS devices, including Bluetooth GNSS devices is a plus.

  • Must have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.

  • Must be flexible in working on unplanned projects and capable of meeting rushed deadlines.

  • GISP (GIS professional certification) a plus
