Spring Showers Bring Flooding
We have welcomed the season of spring and now is the time to focus on the inevitability of rain accumulation.
The Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness states, “One foot of moving water can sweep away small vehicles; two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles, including SUVs and pickup trucks. The majority of flood-related deaths have occurred while in a vehicle, trying to drive through floodwater.”
They also reported, “92 flood-related deaths in the United States, including three individuals in Ohio in 2019.”
