CVE Announces Newest Team Members

Chagrin Valley Engineering is excited to announce the addition of two new members to our growing staff.

John Lewins, EI joins the CVE team as our new Municipal Engineer!

John Lewins, EI

John worked as a Project Manager and Designer for Hess and Associates Engineering in Newbury where he supervised and designed roadway, utility, and site improvement projects. He also has experience in stormwater treatment design and worked as a civil site designer for commercial and residential developments. There, John also served as the Village Engineer to Sugar Bush Knolls in Kent. Prior to his tenure at Hess and Associates, John worked at CT Consultants in Mentor where he was Assistant to the Willoughby City Engineer and supervised various municipal projects, including commercial and residential development plan reviews and contractor proposals. He also coordinated multiple projects with residents, city personnel, and contractors. Prior to that, John worked as a Highway Engineer at Euthenics in Cleveland.

John is a graduate of Cleveland State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.


Eric Hulme, EI joins the CVE team as our new Transportation Engineer!

Eric Hulme, EI

Eric recently worked at Mott MacDonald where he designed replacement signal systems for ODOT, prepared signal warrant and removal analyses, conducted traffic impact and capacity analyses, prepared safety studies, developed MOTAAs for Alternative Evaluation Reports in Ohio and New York, and supported the ODOT/Ohio Rail Development Commission’s statewide railroad preemption contract to evaluate highway-railroad grade crossings near signalized intersections. Prior to his tenure at Mott MacDonald, Eric worked at AWP Safety, one of the nation's largest temporary traffic control providers in several engineering, safety, compliance, and leadership roles. He is also a 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer for the Ohio Army National Guard where he manages the platoon’s equipment operator qualifications and has a hands-on role building new access roads, FOBs, helicopter landing pads and access roads on US & NATO bases in the USA and in Europe.

Eric is a graduate of Purdue University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has previously served as the Ohio Chapter of the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) President and on the Chapter's Board of Directors, and as committee member for the TRB Standing Committees on Work Zone Traffic Control and Traffic Control Devices.
