This summer, Chagrin Valley Engineering expanded our transportation, municipal, and planning expertise with three professionals who bring proven experience in project delivery, traffic safety, and community-focused infrastructure. Their talent and leadership will continue to strengthen our ability to design solutions for our clients.

CVE Welcomes Mary Murray, PE as Project Manager

Mary Murray, PE

Mary joins CVE with extensive experience leading capital improvement projects that enhance community infrastructure. Her background includes a passion for trail systems, active transportation, and recreation projects. At the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, she managed the design and construction of more than 100 active projects totaling nearly $100 million. Beyond her project leadership, she also implemented a project management system that helped streamline delivery and oversight across the department. Mary earned her BSCE from Ohio University.


CVE Welcomes Julie Dombroski, RSP1 as a Traffic & Safety Professional

Julie Dombroski, RSP1

Julie has a strong foundation in transportation planning and traffic safety, shaped by her work with local, regional, and state agencies. Prior to joining CVE, she served as a District Safety Engineer at MassDOT in Boston, where she led safety analyses and developed crash reduction strategies across the state. Prior to that, she worked as a Transportation Planner with the Boston Region MPO, focusing on intersection improvements, corridor analysis, and multimodal mobility planning. Julie graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning.


CVE Welcomes Joe Kolat, PE, PS as a Municipal Engineer

Joe Kolat, PE, PS

Joe brings more than 15 years of civil engineering experience, including an impressive background in construction quality assurance, contract management, and large-scale infrastructure project delivery. Most recently, he served as the Cleveland Project Office Chief and Administrative Contracting Officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he oversaw navigation, flood control, dredging, and other regional civil works projects. His ability to guide projects from concept to completion, all the while ensuring compliance, safety, and cost-efficiency, makes him a strong addition to our Municipal Group. Joe graduated with his BSCE from Cleveland State University. He is licensed as both a Professional Engineer and a Professional Surveyor in the State of Ohio.
