Survey Intern/Co-op
CVE seeks a highly motivated Survey Intern/Co-op to join our diverse team of professionals.
The Survey Intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of field tasks and work alongside experienced engineers and surveyors to support the development of municipal, transportation, and surveying designs and deliverables as well as office tasks including the creation of boundary surveys, dedication plats, easements, R/W plans, and legal descriptions.
Requested Degree/Certifications/Skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Survey/Mapping Certificate or a Bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Mapping, AAS Land Surveying.
Experience is a plus but not required as training will be provided.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Availability for occasional limited travel to remote locations on a project team; Must be willing to work outdoors throughout the year.

Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
Job Responsibilities
Work with Survey Crew in the field and with Engineers in the preparation of R/W plans and legal descriptions in accordance with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) standards from roadway construction plans.
Work flexibly with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
Maintain neat and orderly work area that will allow access to project information to other team members.
Participate in research of previous survey evidence, including maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
Accompany Survey Crew Chief in the field to provide support in obtaining evidence, measurements, and data collection.
Carry and set up survey equipment.
Perform work in a safe manner while wearing appropriate gear and maintain awareness of surroundings.
