Chagrin Valley Engineering Ltd. is pleased to congratulate Erin Van Nort, PWS on the achievement of her Professional Wetland Scientist credentials through the Society of Wetland Scientists. 

Erin has over 16 years of diverse experience in the environmental field that includes hands-on fieldwork and reporting and NEPA project management. 

She is active in the completion of biological fieldwork, including ecological surveys, stream assessments and wetland delineations, completing associated reporting and negotiating permit approvals and has assisted local communities and conservation organizations in the completion of a variety of grant applications for multiple sources. 

Erin has distinguished herself as an expert in many facets of environmental services and permitting, including thousands of hours of field experience and documentation. Her dedication to her profession and advanced coursework has earned her the well-deserved title of Professional Wetland Scientist.

She is adept at determining wetland quality using the Ohio Rapid Assessment Method (ORAM) and stream quality using both the QHEI and HHEI methodologies. Erin has negotiated hundreds of permit approvals for Federal §404 Individual, Nationwide Permits and Ohio Isolated §401 permits.

She has also completed ecological surveys and endangered species habitat assessments per United States Fish and Wildlife Service standards. Erin has experience coordinating projects with the Ohio Historic Preservation Office under Section 106 as well as utilizing their online GIS information system for historical site assessments. 

Erin provides technical support and documentation on federal-aid transportation projects for local agencies and ODOT including fieldwork, reporting and documentation to facilitate environmental document approval.

She is also an ODOT prequalified consultant for Categorical Exclusion, Ecological Survey, Stream and Wetland Mitigation and Waterway Permits.
