This project is a state-of-the-art athletic complex that consists of approximately 175 acres, and is located at the northeast quadrant of I-90 and S.R. 534 in Ashtabula County.
Simultaneous to Construction of the Sports Complex, a deceleration lane (right-in only entrance) roadway and a full access entrance was designed and approved through ODOT.
Spire Institute Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art athletic complex that consists of approximately 175 acres, and is located at the northeast quadrant of I-90 and S.R. 534 in Ashtabula County.
A 2,500 foot roadway was designed with watermain and storm sewer, and the project includes a 5,500 foot sanitary sewer extension. The plans also include a (3) sided box culvert designed to preserve a stream. Four lot splits and consolidations were necessary to accommodate future growth.
The facility includes 2,600 parking spaces, 6 detention and water quality basins, and the balancing of over 300,000 cubic yards of dirt that was moved on the site.
Phase 1 included a 430’ x 400’ Indoor Courts Building which houses (2) playing surfaces separated by a viewing mezzanine.
Phase 2 is a 5,500 seat stadium, which includes artificial turf facilities for football, lacrosse, and facilities for high jump, long jump, pole-vault, and steeplechase.
Phase Three consists of a 600’x300’ Indoor Track Building, and a 300’ x 130’ Baseball Building.
Phase Four consisted of the 400’ x 205’ aquatic center and 420’ x 230’ class room facility.
Currently, phase five is under design which includes a 7,500 foot multipurpose trail that will extend from SR 534 around the facility to Clay Street on the north side of the site.

Engineering and Construction Management: Full Civil Engineering Site Design and Construction Bidding Services.
Start Date: 2008 – Phase I; 2009 – Phase II; 2010 – Phase III; 2011 & 2012 – Phase IV; 2016 – Phase V
