SR 87 Opens Through Village of Moreland Hills

As the Project Lead, Chagrin Valley Engineering (CVE) was responsible for the planning and coordination for the repair a slope failure located on South Woodland Rd, (CUY-SR 087-15.80) within the Village of Moreland Hills.

The slope failure affected the eastbound lane of the 2-lane road, that also affected a water main, storm sewer and fiber optic conduit.

From the planning portion, CVE coordinated several funding sources, the relocation of the water main and the fiber optic conduits.

As the project engineer, CVE was responsible to coordinate the geotechnical design and plan preparation through the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The resulting repair for the slope consisted of a drilled shaft wall that included 41- 3 ft. diameter drilled shafts that were 70 feet deep with soldier piles.
