CVE in the Community: Engagement Beyond Engineering

How CVE strengthens connections with the communities we serve through shared traditions and meaningful moments

At Chagrin Valley Engineering, we believe that supporting the communities we serve goes beyond infrastructure. Whether we’re designing roadways, improving water systems, or planning for safer travel, our work is rooted in connection, and we love stepping out from behind the computer to join our municipal partners in their community traditions. This month, two events gave us the perfect opportunity to do just that.

CVE engineers Michael, Savannah, Julie, and Colin laced up for a run on the trails in support of this Moreland Hills annual event.

Head for the Hills: Hitting the Trail with the Village of Moreland Hills

CVE teammates donned sneakers and race bibs and joined the “Head for the Hills” race, hosted by the Village. This annual run is a local favorite and supports Moreland Hills parks, bringing together families, neighbors, and community partners for a morning on the trail. For CVE, events like this are a reminder of why we love what we do! We don’t just work in the communities; we’re a part of them! Sharing these moments outside of the job site builds the kind of relationships that make our municipal partnerships strong and lasting.

CVE municipal engineers Joe, Joe, Bryan, Savannah, and Aiden celebrate Halloween with local residents.

Trick-or-Treat Trail: Halloween Fun, Pokémon Style with the City of Lyndhurst

Each year, the City hosts its annual Trick-or-Treat Trail, and it has quickly become one of our favorite community traditions. After last year’s Mario Brothers theme, this year, our CVE crew showed up as Pokémon, handing out candy, sharing smiles, and embracing the Halloween spirit with hundreds of families. The City’s team once again put on a fantastic event that brought surrounding communities together in a big way, and we were happy to play a part of it!

These events may not involve engineering plans or staged submittals, but they’re important nonetheless! Community engagement is a key part of who we are as a company. From celebrating local traditions to volunteering at municipal events, CVE is proud to give back to the places we help build and grow. We’re grateful to our municipal partners for welcoming us into their communities, not just as engineers, but as neighbors and volunteers!
