Water Resources Engineer
CVE seeks a highly motivated full-time Water Resources Engineer to join our diverse team of professionals, serving as a project engineer/task lead on small to medium water resources projects and designated tasks on large projects.
The Water Resources Engineer will perform site evaluations, planning, modeling, data analysis, and engineering design for a wide-range of stormwater, wastewater, and water system projects. Work requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures and professional judgement to execute complex design solutions independently or under the guidance of experienced engineers, depending on the task. The candidate will also provide technical guidance and direction to engineers, designers, and technicians assigned to projects.
Requested Degree/Certifications/Skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional Engineer Licensure State of Ohio or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.
Four (4) or more years of Water Resources Engineering experience.
Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis (HEC-RAS, Hydraflow).
Experience in preparing public works construction contract bid documents in the water resources practice area, including project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Job Responsibilities
Review and analyze drainage systems and tributary areas for gravity sewer planning and design.
Perform detailed calculations related to wastewater collection systems, stormwater drainage, and open channel hydraulics.
Performs hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, feasibility studies, inflow and infiltration (I/I) studies, gravity sewer, pumping station, and force main planning and design, sewer rehabilitation and replacement, and the collection and transfer of stormwater and wastewater through various collection, storage, and treatment systems.
Prepare technical memoranda and reports that summarize investigative efforts, alternative solutions, cost-benefit analyses, conclusions, and recommendations.
Coordinate permitting through various water management districts on behalf of clients and municipalities.
Provide technical direction and delegate tasks to water resource engineers, designers, and technicians, and review their work for accuracy and conformance to accepted engineering design standards.
Provide public, municipal, and private clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issues.
Participate in project development meetings with client teams and provide administrative and technical management of various water, stormwater, and/or wastewater assignments simultaneously.
